WORK

Dr. Barry Amacker brings Proven and Experienced Leadership to the office of superintendent. His 34 years of experience includes being a Band Director, Ass't Principal, Principal and Ass't Superintendent. His leadership has been proven in leading the St. Martin Attendance Area in outstanding academic achievemets. All of the schools in the St. Martin Attendance Area achieved a Level 5 State Accreditation and met the AYP Federal Standards set in accordance of No Child Left Behind. Following Katrina, Dr. Amacker provided strong, creative leadership in getting students back in class within 23 school days. Despite the incredibly difficult circumstances, St. Martin Schools achieved the highest possible state and federal ratings. In addition, his positive, determined attitude inspired others to work together to "press on" day by day. Throughout his career, Dr. Barry Amacker has been recognized as Mobile County Middle School Teacher of the Year, St. Martin Attendance Area Administrator of the Year, Guest and adjunct instructor at the University of Southern Mississippi, and has served as a guest adjudicator and director of various band and music festivals.
